Colin Cassidy is one such creature – a Copywriter and Creative Director turned Pro-Voice.
Born in outback Australia to a Scottish Mother, Colin spoke with a Scottish accent for the first 5 years of his life, then – as a Creative in his late twenties – lived in the UK for over a decade, working as a Creative Director and British-accented Voice. He then returned to Sydney, where he now records in a myriad of accents, impressions and characters for clients worldwide.
After a twenty-year career in the media Colin’s experience and talent is only matched by his friendly, relational style, making him a pleasure to work with, direct and – like a good Vodka Martini – stir or even lovingly shake!

I recently asked Colin to voice an ad that required someone to start reading in their normal voice, then gradually transition into a rampaging Scotsman storming a castle and lopping off heads of unsuspecting Englishmen with his broadsword. Not only did he nail it so amazingly well … he also threw in alternative takes where he suddenly come back to reality in his normal Australian voice at the end. It enhanced the ad and made it better that I envisaged in my head when I was writing it.
A voiceover guy with the brain of a writer is a very valuable combination for ad makers. I thoroughly recommend Colin for your next project.
